Is there any meal tempeh can’t go with? As you can probably tell by now, we certainly don’t think so.
Teriyaki tempeh + sushi = heaven.  

Recipe by Better Nature & VNutrition



  • 1 bamboo roll

  • 2 portions of teriyaki tempeh

  • 100g sushi rice

  • 30ml rice wine vinegar

  • 10g of nori sheets 

  • 1 avocado

  • Wasabi, ginger & soy sauce, to serve


  1. Cook the sushi rice, as per instructions, and slice up the avocado into long strips

  2. Mix 200ml of water with the rice wine vinegar in a large bowl

  3. Roll out a sheet of nori (shiny side down) onto the bamboo mat

  4. Dip your hands in the water mixture, then pat handfuls of rice on top of the nori in a 1cm thick layer, leaving the furthest edge from you clear

  5. Add the teriyaki tempeh and avocado in a line across the middle of the rice

  6. Lift the edge of the mat over the rice and begin to roll, ensuring pressure is maintained so the roll sticks together

  7. When you get to the edge without any rice, brush with a little water and keep rolling until the roll is sealed

  8. Slice up and serve with wasabi, ginger & soy sauce!
